Theresa M. Turner, Makeup Artist/Consultant

Theresa Turner is a Philadelphia-born Makeup Artist/Consultant whose passion is to empower women to embrace their individual natural beauty. She is known by her clients as the person to go to when you want to look and feel your absolute best.

Having been inspired at an early age while spending time in her aunt’s salon, Theresa realized that she had a natural calling for the beauty industry. This led her to study Cosmetology at Wilfred Academy in Philadelphia. She excelled in her training and upon completing the program became certified in the states of PA, DE, and MD.

Theresa opened her first hair and retail salon at the age of 26, and grew her business to a second location. The salon was an extreme success servicing and employing a very diverse clientele. The fact that she has maintained clients from her first salon is a testament to her professional skills, her commitment to superior customer service, and expertise at creating beauty for her clients.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 1991, Theresa shifted her focus more to the makeup sector of the beauty industry. She began working for Clinique and later transitioned to Chanel. She gained popularity and a reputation as a sought-after makeup artist while working for MAC Cosmetics. In addition to her own unique style, Theresa also worked with and trained under numerous celebrity makeup artists including Bobbi Brown and Sam Fine. Her list of accomplishments include working as an in-house Makeup Artist for CN8 Television where her makeup skills were showcased on television personalities, celebrities, and politicians including Sylvester Stallone and Joe Biden.

“All women are powerful when they feel confident inside and out” is a belief that Theresa holds and uses as a guiding principal when working with her clients. Her gift is educating and empowering her clients to feel better about themselves and to recognize that they have the ability to enhance their appearance. She facilitates both one-on-one consultations and group workshops. Her presentation style makes the client feel comfortable and relaxed. Theresa’s favorite quote is from one of her clients: “I can’t stop looking at myself”. This quote captures the essence of why she has such a deep passion for her work.

Because Theresa has faced her own life-changing adversities, she now couples her personal and professional experience, sharing her tools and techniques with others. She has undergone chemotherapy twice in very different phases of her life.
As a result, she can directly relate to anyone facing a life-challenging situation. Theresa has put her 20+ years of makeup artistry and retail into her own cosmetic brand, Theresa Turner Cosmetics. The brand is based on essential products that enhance and correct. Her cosmetics are easy to use, affordable and paraben-free.

Theresa currently resides in the mid-atlantic region with her husband, Al Turner, a professional bassist who tours and performs internationally.
